Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a complementary therapy and the fundamental premise is that the body has innate healing energy and is doing its best to care for itself, but sometimes needs assistance to achieve this state. A kinesiologist can help facilitate the changes needed.

Kinesiology uses muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body’s structural, biochemical, psychological or energetic energy, to establish the body’s priority healing needs and to evaluate the best way to restore the flow of energy.

Kinesiology, therefore, may be understood as a system of natural health care which combines muscle monitoring with the principles of Chinese medicine to assess energy and body function, applying a range of gentle healing techniques to improve health, balance, wellbeing and vitality.

Kinesiology is a non-invasive method, that can help you to reduce stress and pain, improve performance at school, work and home, in sports, in relationships, and promotes health and wellbeing. Kinesiology gives you choice and allows you to take charge of the way you relate to the past, your present circumstances and the future.

What can Kinesiology do for me?

What happens during a Kinesiology session?

Once you arrive Anthea will take a full medical and lifestyle history and listen to you about what you would like to work on. After this, you take your shoes off and lie on the therapy table. You stay fully clothed during the session. Each Kinesiology session is called a ‘balance’ meaning the ultimate goal is to bring every aspect of you into balance.

Kinesiology uses a bio-feedback technique called ‘muscle monitoring.’ This allows Anthea to gather a complete picture of your health from a physical, biochemical, mental/ emotional, energetic and spiritual perspective through the mind-body link. Kinesiology is gentle and usually not painful.

After Anthea has found where the stresses and blockages lie, she uses various techniques to help release the blockages and balance your mind, body and spirit. To end the session, Anthea will give you some home responsibility to continue with your health and healing. All consultations are 55 mins duration. Anthea recommends 3—5 sessions to work with your issue or goal.
